What generational divide? Smash co-stars Angelica Huston and Katherine McPhee pal around on set

With more than 50 feature films to her name, and the scion of one of Hollywood's most legendary directors, movie royalty doesn't come much bigger than Angelica Huston.
But the 61-year-old actress wasn't putting on any airs or graces on the set of musical drama Smash today, as she cosied up to her young co-star Katherine McPhee and fellow cast members.
The Royal Tenenbaums actress looked classically elegant as she rehearsed for season two of the TV series, wearing a knee-length navy dress.

Sporting her trademark Cleopatra bob, the iconic actress wore simple black heels and accessorised with two long gold chains around her neck.
She put one arm around her co-star McPhee, who wore black leggings and a black asymmetrical jacket over a lace cream shirt, paired with black heels.

Huston, who is the daughter of legendary Hollywood director John Huston, plays producer Eileen Rand in the TV series, whose divorce from her lecherous husband has led to the freezing of her assets.
McPhee, 28, plays the role of Karen Cartwright, a struggling actress working as a waitress to make ends meet.
The American Idol season five runner-up leaned in towards Huston as the two spoke and laughed with Jack Davenport.

Davenport plays Derek Wills in the NBC show, which is based on the life of Marylin Munroe.
Also on set was Megan Hilty, dressed in a black pencil skirt and pale pink collared shirt.
Carrying an iced drink and walking on towering heels, the 31-year-old blonde carried her sides as she smiled for the camera.
Hilty's character in the series is Ivy Lynn, a seasoned triple-threat ensemble performer who has spent years pursuing stardom, only to be dumped back into the chorus line time and again.
