A lesson in how to be a diva: Mariah Carey wows in sequinned black dress as she invites young fan on stage

She was eager to show fans that she has a heart of gold when she allowed a young fan to join her on stage in Australia on Thursday.
But Mariah Carey looked and sounded every inch the diva during her concert in Sydney as she commanded the audiences’ attention in a figure-hugging frock.
The 42-year-old stood in front of the large crowd wearing a one-shouldered sheer black mini dress which featured a curvy sequin design.

With her blonde wavy locks flowing over her shoulders, her legs were left on full show as she paraded around her platform.

 

Despite looking better than many mothers in the glitzy outfit, the parent of twins Monroe and Moroccan with husband Nick Cannon, had previously complained about her ill-fitting attire. 
She told the audience at her New Year’s Eve gig in the Gold Coast area that her ebony dress wasn’t the best fitting she’s ever had.

She sang: ‘These might not be the best lyrics I ever wrote, but whatcha gonna do? I'm in a dress that's a little bit small and little bit big and my shoes my shoes my shoes...’
It took place during a break as they experienced audio problems at the venue and she was heard complaining to engineers that the sound in her earpiece was distorted.
Mariah said: ‘There's like 200 of you, can one of you just fix the ear thing? I hope I'm not asking for the moon and the stars ... there's a lot of sound problems going on here. I don't know if it's me or you, or something in the air, but can we fix it?’

Thankfully, her set included outfit changes and she also wore a strapless ivory number at the Allphones Arena in Sydney Olympic Park in the latter part of the week.
Her husband was present for a DJ set during the night and on Tuesday they brought their 20-month-old son and daughter out to greet fans.
But her latest child-friendly performance saw the star make a younger fan’s dreams come true when the girl known as ‘Little Mariah’ graced the stage.
Mariah tweeted afterwards: ‘THANK U SYDNEY 4 being an a+++mazing audience!! So many moments I'll always cherish like meeting little Mariah. LYM!!’
